Description
This ceramic-coated separator (CCS) is designed to enhance safety and electrochemical stability in lithium-ion battery systems. It consists of a polypropylene (PP) base film coated with a ceramic layer and PVDF binder, forming a thermally stable and mechanically reinforced separator structure.
Compared to standard polyolefin separators, ceramic-coated separators provide significantly improved thermal resistance, reduced shrinkage, and enhanced structural integrity at elevated temperatures. This makes them ideal for high-performance battery applications, including lithium-ion, lithium metal, and advanced energy storage systems.
The ceramic layer improves heat resistance and suppresses internal short circuits, while the PVDF coating enhances adhesion and electrolyte wettability, contributing to stable cycling performance and improved safety margins.
This material is widely used in battery R&D labs, pilot-scale production, and advanced material studies where separator performance is critical.
